Thinking about selling my Hensel beauty dish. I was wondering what size Mola dish most people are using. I shoot mostly fashion/modeling/glamour the majority of my shots are 3/4 to full body. Should I go with the 22", 28" or 33" dish.

BTW, I do have a 7' Photoflex octobox for full body, but I am looking for a more contrasty look. I am okay with a bit of light fall off at the models lower legs on full body shots.

Also, would it make sense to get the 33" for the key light and the 22" for the fill?

JimmyD has the 33" and loves it. I've tested all three and am looking to purchase the 28" in the near future. It allows you to change the position of the head in the reflector for a wider variety of looks. It has steeper falloff than the other models, but I shoot a lot of B&W and like that look. The 22" is too harsh for my taste by itself, but that's just me. Mola now makes a 43" reflector (which I haven't tested) that a buddy of mine in NYC swears by. For what you want to use it for as described in your post, the 33" or 43" would probably be your best choice.

I am considering the 43", but the price tag scares me. I am still mentally trying to justify the 33.5", but I am sure that I can get there. Knowing that JimmyD uses the 33.5" really helps, as I do like the look of his pictures and the fact that it can be used for 3/4 / full body. Then again, who doesn't like his photos

Best
Tony
