I need something more than Windows Movie Maker to produce a slide show of photographs I took at a four night event this week. I need something I can use to create some movement (like Ken Burns in the Civil War series ), use some creative wipes and put it to music. I may also intersperse video.
Any software the you like to use?

I use Final Cut Pro and After Effects for most of my stuff, but that's on Mac. On PC, I think Premiere Pro or Vegas are the most popular..

I haven't used them, but PicturesToExe, and GlobFX are both pretty popular.

Proshow is the current favorite amongst most wedding photographers that do slideshows. I'm sure it would be excellent for your needs, considering you want to be able to do movement, zooming, fades, wipes, etc. Look at the "Features" section for each of the ProShow versions.

The "Gold" version additionally creates DVD slideshows.

Ed. It looks like you need the Gold version to do those motion effects you want.

This was perfect for what I needed. I went ahead and got the Gold license. Thanks!
