I've used a large rectangular frame reflector / diffuser made by Photoflex for a few years, and like it fine. But it doesn't fit in my other baggage by any means, and the airlines now want a mint to check an extra bag, particularly a long duffel bag.

So I'm in the market for a collapsible 52" reflector which will go into the suitcase. Should I stick with Photoflex, or try the Wescott? I've looked at both. Any comments on your experiences welcome, thanks.

Lynn

I have the 42 x 71 Photoflex and like it fine. I think it folds up easier than my friend's similar Wescott.

Bob,

That's the one I have, too, and I like it a lot. So that's a good reason to stay with Photoflex when I buy the 52" round! Thanks for the post,

The Wescott's fine if you don't mind silver/gold glitter all over your equipment. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea (certainly isn't mine) stick with Photoflex, although they are not my particular favorite. One day very soon I'm replacing my piece of crap Photoflex softbox with a real Chimera, cost more though it may. The only piece of Wescott equipment I own that has not ended up in the recycle bin is a small translucent white umbrella (not much you can screw up there).

The Photoflex it shall be. The Wescott sounds pretty bad. Want to get this tomorrow, and those were my two locally available choices. Thanks,

Lynn
