Hey all,

At the Chicago workshop, Rolando had large sheets of gel and I am having no luck finding them. My guess is that they were 15" by 24". I've found the smaller "barndoor sized" sheets, but I'm looking for the larger sheets to that I cut them into smaller pieces to go over either a strobe or a standard flash unit.

Where do you get yours?

you can get them at any theatre supply house or www.adorama.com or www.bhphoto.com. Search for Rosco or Cinegel.

Look around for a film/televisions rental house. I'm sure there are several in Milwaukee. They'll stock gels. Try:
http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr...local&ct=title

You want a place that rents to the film/television industry.

You know Ernie, when you spell Rosco with the "E" on the end you get much further...

Thanks for the help...I found exactly what I was looking for!

If you say so but the brand name for the gels I like to use is Rosco not Roscoe. Here is a direct link to their website http://www.rosco.com/us/index.asp

Email them and ask for a swatch book, it's a sample book about 1 x 3 inches that has all the available gels in it along with their catalog number. Lots of places sell the samples but Rosco gives them away. I suggest the Roscolux line of gels, the Cinelux line has the same gels but they also include samples of materials that are very specific to the motion picture industry that are more or less pointless to still shooters.

D
Let me restate that...When you put an "E" on the end you end up in the wrong place. The thought was right in my head, but it didn't translate to the fingers that were doing the typing. That happens sometimes...

Or just search on ebay for "gel filter". This will get you a variety of choices in an easy to purchase package.
