Thanks for all the replies. I went down to my favorite camera store today to see what they had. They sell Superior color paper for $52 and white paper for $42, so I went ahead and bought it there. I like to support my local store any time their prices are close to what I can get on the Internet. I also treated myself to some manfrotto brackets and EXPAN paper holders (they have a chain for reeling the paper up and down). It's probably a little over the top, but it will help keep my paper out of the way, and my "studio" is in a high traffic part of the house, so I don't really want to leave the paper lying around.

That doesn't look right for "seamless" paper. Do you think it's possible you got a defective roll? It's like you can see the mesh fibres that the paper is made out of. I'll have to try that with my black and see what happens. Thanks for sharing the image... definitely something to watch for.
Thanks again for all the input. I've got to get this room painted (lived here 8 years... time to paint) and then I can put everything up. Hopefully I'll have some great images to share from this!
