Looking to purchase a D60 at a reasonable price, anyone selling? Prices on eBay seem a bit high for what you can purchase the 10D for (once it's available

Thanks in advance,
Brent

Nice shot, well, I'm really not wanting to spend the amount of money that the 10D is demanding right now. It's a great price for DSLR don't get me wrong, but for a first digital camera I would rather not make that kind of investment. I'm sure I'm in a dream world hoping to find someone to rid of their D60 at a lower price, but you never know till you ask

Thanks,
Brent

I scoured Ebay all of february trying to find a D60 at 1500, never could. So when the 10D came out at 1499 I pounced.

I was told by my sales rep at Gateway that they were selling the 10D with a 10% discount until 4/10. Alot of 10 in that statement Anywho, that will knock it down to $1350.

Be aware that Gateway has stores in a lot of states, you'll likely be charged sales tax.

Just a side blurb here... In Arkansas, there is an old law deep in the book that states products purchased from other states are still subject to Arkansas taxes. In other words, we are "supposed" to claim all non-taxed items on our tax returns in April so they will be taxed accordingly. I wonder if other states have a similar law? I doubt they'll ever come looking for an offender, but it's just a thought. They want their sales tax either way

By the way, Gateway was offering a three year ESP on their 10Ds for about $150. If you bought it, you didn't have to pay sales tax. I only paid around $106 in tax.

Every state that *has* a sales tax, so far as I know (and while I am a lawyer, I do not play one on TV, which means I don't automatically know the answer to every legal question) has a requirement that you pay the tax on things which would be subject to tax if you bought them in your state. My company, for instance, files a Use Tax Return ("Use Tax" and "Sales Tax" are more or less the same thing) every year on which we itemize all of our out-of-state purchases for which we were not charged tax. We then send it in along with a check for all of the tax.
