I'm sure this topic was covered numerous times on the old website. But I can't find any reference to it so here is goes...

Can somebody share with me the best methods creating "fake sweat" if I recall a mixture of baby lotion and water can do the trick but I seem to recall there being better more realistic options out there.

Thanks to anybody who can offer some suggestions! I have a shoot coming up in a couple of weeks were I want to try this.

Thanks,
Matt

Here are a couple of the things I have heard of, baby oil & water mix, baby oil, "Pam" cooking spray, and water by its self.

I have only ever used water it is the easiest to clean up.

As Ron mentioned, Pam cooking spray works very well. Sometimes though, while it produces a great sheen on the skin, it doesn't seem to give very good droplets or runs of water down the skin. For that, you can also use a 50/50 mixture of Glycerine and water in a spray bottle. You can find Glycerine at your local pharmacy (its over-the-counter) for about $3 a bottle. Its sweet tasting and have never seen any kind of adverse effect on the skin. You can also use it on fruit or anything else you want to make look wet.

Best regards,
John

I use the olive oil version of Pam. Keeps the models from smelling like french fries.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll have to give each of them a try and see what I like best.

Glycerine which can be bought in any drug store like Rite Aid or Duane Reade, dont know what is common in your area. It put on skin like a moisturizer then spray on water with like a mist bottle or something. Works great... Also heard that adding salt to the water helps a little to bead better...

GLYCERIN ALL THE WAY, BABY!! Lol

I've used glycerin about 2 or 3 times for a shoot and I'm tellin ya!! it's AMAZING!!

So much better than the whole baby oil and water... besides it washes right off, unlike the oil....
