Hello All
I have been experimenting with a new 7ft octadome and like the results so far.
The build quality is not bad ,however the 7 footers require heavy duty stands with rollers, high ceilings, and some setup time. The gold & silver inserts, & grid provide many options for lighting.

Which one is that, the Westcott one you're talking about? It comes with different colored inserts and the grid or do you have to buy that seperately? How long does it take to set up?

I am really REALLY considering just getting the 5' one for now as I rarely do actual full body shots and the 5' one is almost half the price. For instance, couldn't you have lit that one fine with the 5 footer? Not saying you made a bad decision as obviously you won't always be taking advantage of the size, but I'm just trying to figure things out cause I want to order this thing like yesterday.

Fairly well built, gonna be a bear to strike, have used it a bit, but still waiting for a victim to really test it out. Comes with inserts.
