My next choice will probably be a strip box. I already have an old (20+ years) 3x4 Larson that was given to me. The strip would be used for a kicker light.
When buying used on Ebay, make sure you can fit it to your lights. Although my box was given to me, I had to buy an adapter plate from larson to fit my AB800. Even then I had to modify the plate since they no longer make a plate for that box. They offered to give me a $100 discount on a new box of the same size. Good luck on your search, but remember to make sure they will fit

I have a novatron light set and thought of getting a good softbox for it , but I was under the impression that the "light" had to be inside the box.
meaning more like a bare bulb extending into the softbox for best reflection

not how my novatrons are made
maybe it is good enough to be out the back ?

Someone on here might answer that for us both

I bought a westcott Apollo model , whole novatron goes inside the box facing backwards
very awkward to use( to small to fit a light in and adjust ), anything but straight starts to hit the light stand

I have Novatron also and have rented Chimera softboxes. I purchased
a westcott speedring that fits right over a novatron standard reflector.
The combination worked just great for me.

Good luck
