On that note, can someone offer up some suggestions for good web site designers that won't cause me to have to sell BOTH of my kidneys to afford? I have a couple leads so far but I like to have a lot of options. I know this has been asked before but I thought it would be easier to just post another message rather than sort through 9 zillion threads from the "search" function for web site design.

Good day to all!

I could design your website ... but, unfortunately I don't have the time to take on another website. So here's some advice:

As you looks at prospective website designers and website designs, I would recommend two things -- 1. Don't get a website that's so fancy and full of Flash and multimedia that it takes forever (or costs a kidney) to update regularly (unless you seldom update your website content. 2. If you want a slick design but need to save money (and know a little about HTML), there are a number of great looking website "templates" that you can buy for under $150 and customize/maintain yourself.

My website ( www.martygast.com ) may not be the most visually elaborate or exciting, but as my online selling tool, I can easily add, change or update the images in only a few minutes -- freeing up more of my time. I helped several local photographers customize some website templates and you'd be hard pressed to know which is a template and which was an original design. best part, they both do all their own updates ... and neither knew HTML.

Good luck,

Hi Marty,

Well, I know Dreamweaver and some HTML but I'm terrible at design. Dreamweaver is a beautiful program but quite complex. I have no interest in Flash and all that artsy-fartsy sh*t. I was thinking more along the lines of using Java for my images instead of jpegs just to prevent copying to some degree. I've contemplated using rollover imagery (which may be a Flash function) but am not sure. I've seen some incredible web sites that I'd love to emulate but I know I couldn't do it on my own. I just know that the poor excuse of a web site I have now is useless. I have taken down a whole bunch of stuff and more is coming down soon. I want to do it right or not at all, ya know? I want my site to impress people for the photographic content and not the scripting so much. I also want it easy to update so that I can do it quickly and without a lot of fanfare. Simple, elegant, effective.

Good day!

Mike

I'd be happy to design your site. Contact me and let me know what you require, we can then take it from there.

....check it out!!!
It was written by a model currently living in Australia, but soon moving to Hungary (still very much in business however). She has done both of my websites .... all correspondence done by e-mail and things worked out great. She works really fast too ...... I recommend her highly.

This is my new site (done for around $400) .... My NEW site!!

And this one was done about a year and a half ago for $300 ......
My wedding photography website

The young lady who's talents are on display is Beatrix and there is a link to her website design company on the first website (A.M. Images Photography) on the "Links" page.

Good luck with your site!
