Anyone have any experience with this lense. I don't have the extra scratch for the canon l lense. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have this lens that I use with my Nikon N80. I bought it used for only $250.00 bucks off Ebay. I love it. It's fast and sharp.

Does the yob, always a good cost effecient option when it comes to lenses. I find sigma does ok with its 10-20 2.8 and its 24-70 2.8 along with the aforementioned 70-210 2.8. Stear clear of the 50-500, the 80-400, and the 300-800, imho, they make them simply cause...well they can

Shouldn't have any problems with the glass, much more inexpensive then the Canon and the L's are clearly better preferrably with the IS, but the non IS version still a great chunk of glass.....and the 70-200 F4 L isn't so bad either if your looking to save some dollars and get the quality.

Just my thoughts

Marc Grant has lots of experience using both the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 HSM, and the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 USM L lens..

Ask him which he likes better..

Are you sure you don't mean the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8, which is an excellent lens especially for sports. Value wise it can't be beat!

I bought Canon's 70-200 f/4 lens, wasn't impressed at all with it (for the money), returned it and got the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX. VERY impressed.

I attended a workshop in Atlanta quite a while back, and the Sigma was the most prevalent lens there. I only wish they'd make it for the Oly 4/3 format.

While I have not used this particular Sigma lense, I have used others and have found that they are an excellent lense. I have the Sigma 35-135 and it is a very solid lense.

I have he Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM and it is a fantastic lens. It has been rated almost in a dead heat with the Canon 70-200 2.8 L lens. Now you say 210 rather than 200 and I don't know if we are actually talking about the same lens. Are you talking about 200 or 210 and if 210, then would it be a used lens?
Cheers,
rfs
