Anyone have any feedback on the 24 to 105 f4L IS Lens. I'm thinking of tradeing for this or the 24 - 70 f 2.8L I have the 28 - 70 f 2.8L now. I've never shot with an IS lens. Is it as sharp ?

28-70...is better that 24-70 in image quality!
do not change this lens!!

I never use 24-105 but I use lens with IS, it is usefull in some situation, but in studio you must turn it off because the flash light can give some problem to the IS sensor.

It's a great general-purpose lens. It's not as solid as the 24-70 or 28-70, but better than the 28-135. The sharpness difference is minimal on a digital camera. I find that the difference in depth of field between f/2.8 and f/4 at shorter focal lengths is minimal. Then again, I haven't had very good experiences with the 24-70 at shorter focal lengths (poor focusing accuracy).

I've only had one incident of the infamous flare problem so far. Interestingly, these images were taken within seconds of each other.
