I have heard a lot abut Alian Bees here. They seem to be perferred by many photographers. Has anyone used (Smith Victor's)? Just starting out I have looked at both brands and the SM-300's sell for abut $456.00 and are rated at 300 wat sec. They also have a wireless flash trigger for about $75.00. Any input would be appreciated.

http://www.alienbees.com

I have 7 of them and they work flawlessly. I have 3-B800's and 4-B400's. They put out ALOT of light and are very reasonably priced. I recently added a MicroSync Digital wireless system to the rig and am VERY pleased with the wireless firing of my lights. The customer service at Alien Bees is also legendary. I was having problems with my sync cords failing and they sent me 5 new sync cords without any hesitation (They have since switched vendors for sync cords). Take a look at them, you'll be pleased.
