I truely hope this is a memory card thing, as I have more work coming up.

You said you have a D100, and that camera supposedly does have multiple exposure capability. How you could accidentally turn that on/off I don't know...and maybe you didn't. Maybe your camera is flaking and going into that mode on its own. But this is not a memory card issue, I can almost guarantee that.

I don't own a D100, but a quick search on DPReview showed folks saying that it is capable of multiple exposure...but of course nobody said how to do it. And I pulled the D100 user manual and don't see it listed in the index.

Good luck.

Thanks, I will look into that. Its a crazy world when it comes to these cameras. A d200 seems to be in my future, I just dont know how soon. I really dont want to buy a back up camera before I buy the d200.
Thanks

They apparently aren't even going to be available in Australia until at least February so I don't even get to touch one until then. I also agree that the camera must have somehow got itself into double exposure mode. If you are shooting JPEG it can't be file corruption since if 2 JPEGS were to get mixed up you would just end up with a mess.

Don't know how this happened , but I have a D100 and I am pretty sure there is no double exposure option on that camera ????

I know of two cases where jarring the camera (both were Nikons) reset some of the configuration options... in one case it reset the sensitivity from ISO 200 to ISO 800; I don't recall what the other one did. Might be a possibilty although yours seems to have gone back to shooting normally.

I let my D1X get pretty wet once and the settings just changed randomly and it was generally flaky until I dried it out by leaving it on the front seat of a hot car for a couple of hours.

Weak batteries often cause bizarre things to happen with electronics in general although I've not heard of camera settings changing because of dying cells.

Just some possibilities.

If I remember correctly, my battery was showing low on the meter shortly after that particular shot, probly 20 or thirty shots later. I took a 30 min break ( to recharge) You could be on to something. ( I hope ) thanks for your input.
