Bogen/Manfrotto makes a 7'6" roller stand that is built extremely well and is just a pleasure to use. I have three of them and I mount my Avenger (D600 & D650) Booms on them. The set-ups are so sturdy, well made, the wheels roll perfectly, they fold up somewhat small, I leave mine self-standing.

Anyway, anyone looking for a reasonably priced boom set-up can pick up one of these on the ebay Calumet auctions (that is where I bought all three of mine) for about $60 bucks. Now you mate this to a Avenger Boom, such as the D600 and for about $170, you will have an awesome set-up. Of course the Avenger D60 is even nicer, but much more heavy duty and only a few bucks more.

here is the Link to B&H which tells about them and shows that they go for $162 plus shipping:

And here is a Link to a CURRENT Calumet auction for one:

Yep, I'll second that... those are really good stands for studio use.. They are made very well, plus you can weight them down in the support braces at the bottom.. I have about 20lbs on mine all the time when using it with a heavy mono head..and have never had a boom come down by it's own because of lack of bottom weight.....I had one fall once, but that was probably the "anomaly" / "poltergeist" that I happen to have here that likes to tip over [censored], mess with my radios, flush the toilet..etc..but, aside from that, that stand and it's many uses are well worth it..

Same here, I have one with a Bogen HD boom; excellent stand, great casters. Since I hung my overhead grid i haven't used it much though.
