As part of my Color Management quest, I ran across two neat (free) utilities this morning on a German Website (click on the American/British flag for a translation) which I want to share with all you GGers. The first is Quick Gamma, which works like Adobe Gamma, but lets you further adjust Gamma by RGB color in addition to gray scale. You can then set it as the default Gamma for your monitor. The second is Quick Monitor Profile which creates an ICM/ICC profile based on the chromaticity values of your specific monitor (or standard values i.e., AdobeRGB1998) and lets you set it as the default profile for your monitor. I used both today and now my monitor image is a dead ringer for my printed image.

Here is the link

Enjoy!
Mike

Thanks Doc,
This is exactly what's been on my mind of late.

My suggestion is to quit messing around and BUY the Gretag-Macbeth Eye 2 display system. The BEST $250 you'll ever spend! PERIOD.

In case the monitor 6500K preset is way off, try the Monaco OptixXR.

After readjusting the 6500K preset, the colors are great.

Mike I use Quikgamma as a setup for my printing and CS workflow such as it is and it works fine, until I came across this fantastic utility printing in colour was a pain
