WOW such oportunities when ya work with the military.
The last picture looks like one of those gass guseling F-16s. The big buzz on the radio circuits durring the big Storm was the 16's looking for the 135's.
Good work!

Fast horses, fast women, need for fast shots. I've tried many ways and it just seemed for me pushing the 800 to 1600 worked the best. Shutter speed was normally 1/250 with f4 or f5.6 with a 70-300 lens. With shutter at 1/125 it was to slow and I would get a blur in the action. Once in awhile I could get away with a flash, but when your at one end of the arena and they're at the other, flash never reached. This is what I did with this shot.

I'm new and still trying different things, there's no end to the learning here.

You should try to get that 3200 and or 6400 film. It comes in color and black and white. Just call B & H or Calumet they have a lot of stuff that is hard to find.

Thanks, Frank. I was definitely fortunate to have a good working relationship with the 134th Air Refueling Wing when I was working at a paper near Knoxville, TN. They are a great group of people and, if memory serves me right, the commander of that group (Col. Fred Forester ... now Gen. Fred) was one of two or three that cooordinated all air refueling during Desert Storm. Hell of a nice guy!

And yep, those 135s really got a workout then with all the collition sorties happening daily. Good call on the F-16 too!

Thanks again,
Dave
