Thanks! I used the flash WB setting which is just a touch warm, then threw a gold reflector in my Softliter for some extra warmth/glow. I've done this before and hadn't noticed the problem. Looking back now, many of those images have clipped red channels too. Now I know what did it. Thanks so much for getting to the bottom of what was an extremely puzzling problem for me! You da man! Many cameras generate their histograms from only the green channel, which has the most pixels.

I *think* the Canon 20D doesn't have a real RGB histogram like you would get in Photoshop. Check your green channel in PS and see if it doesn't look like the camera historgram.

Hi,
I have the same "problem" when comparing a Sekonic L358 with the 20D histogram, most of the times they are equal but sometimes the 20D gives me a histogram with at least 1 fstop extra room when exposing for the Sekonic, I have learned to ignore that. When I give him 1 extra stop I have seen several times that indeed one colorchannel is clipped in PS.

So trust your meter for 100% and the 20D for 99.9 %

Shoot RAw if you want the best latitude and scope for correcting exposure errors.
