One of these was shot with my $15 all plastic Holga, one with my Nikon N80, and the other with my (then)state of the art D70. Which one do you think is the better image?

I'm partial to the one above; the middle one in your triplet, Ed.

I hate to read stuff like that when I just bought a Nikon D70,(which by the way is in my mind not better then the Minolta 7HI),but hey,its only money, right?

I'm a Nikon user but have nothing against Canon or any other camera system. Far too much time and energy is spent talking about which equipment was used to take what photo.

The member who posted the three images, all from different cameras is a case in point. All the images are very good & effective. Certainly they are different, but not better or worse based on the equipment used.

Photography has always been about vision & talent, not equipment. Couldn't resist adding my two cents.

My point exactly. Spend your energy on ways to make the next photo session better the the last one. Give the viewer new ways to see the world, or in our case, a model presented unlike most we see in these galleries. Jim

Amen, a camera , lens etc are simply tools to do a job and any tool will do.
It is a poor craftsman that blaims his tools.
By the way both Nikon and Canon are recording record profits, it is the other tool makers that are in trouble and seeking partners

Trust me,.... after a while in our camp,...you won't be thinking of going back..

I have been partly responsible for at least 5 people switching to Canon recently.. One, Timm B. just ordered a 5D,..and should be getting his hands on it today sometime..

The 20D is a fine camera too.. Nothing wrong with the 20D.. I have kept mine.. and they deliver great "bang for the buck" performance.

My conversion was in 1996,...but I came from a Minolta Maxxim system.. I had a choice at the time to go either Canon or Nikon..and Nikon had just released the F5 body.. But,..I really liked the lenses, and the camera focusing system of the Canon's a lot better.. so I went with Canon..and I haven't looked back, even when they didn't release a digital camera that riveled the D1 in any way....when they did, I was ever more glad I stayed with Canon.

I am aware of some new technologies coming up in the future from them, and I can't wait for that day to arrive, because,...lets just say that the 1Dmk2 makes the 1D look "old"... but the 1D pretty much smoked the Nikon D1.. The new 1D series body will make the 1D2 look like the original 1D body.......oh,....and, I forgot to mention,...that the used market, there is so much more to pick from in comparrison..
