Ok in the true tradition of Garage Glamour (my definition) I am going to set up a photo studio in my garage for glamour photography (play on words get it garage (studio) for (glamour) photography? I have a portable backdrop stand, a backdrop, finished white flat painted walls and ceiling which is 9 feet high (the ceiling is) approximate area of 18" x 16' and some very basic Smith Victor photo floods. Of course I have a tripod and a camera. What other items do I need keeping it as simple and cost effective as possible to make a workable studio? I live in the Phoenix area so I will only be able to use this studio between Oct and Mar or so due to extreme heat. Thanks in advance Jim

Well, the obvious response would be an air conditioner so you can shoot year round.

Continuous lights kick out a lot of heat, maybe it's time to start thinking about some strobes in the future.

For the time being, a few furniture props wouldn't hurt. A couple of photogenic chairs or stools, and maybe a couple of large cushions or pillows.

You didn't mention what type of images you intend to do, so it's a little hard to recommend specific props. They are flea market or thrift store type items anyway.

Yard sales my friend. Use your imagination for props, sets and clothing. One light source, a reflector and a dark background gives you unlimited possibilities along with the yard sale purchases.

I lived in the Imperial Valley for a while and couldn't develope black and white film at home since the tap water was over 80 degrees.

James, James, James..

Besides maybe a wall mounted A/C unit.. you need to get some props.. and some lights..

And most importantly.. you need a bevy of beauties..

Glad you like the new home.. hopefully next week or sometime soon I can get over there to check out the house and your new studio... and take some shots..

Congrats again on the house..
