Anybody get a D200 yet? I see that it does multiple exposures and my company offers this effect to customers. Is the price/functions thing worth a shot?

As far as I know from reading ALL the forums (I have a D200 pre-ordered as well), there only are a few pre-production samples floating around. Best guess is the distribution channel will fill sometime later this month to early December. I'm hoping to get mine before Christmas.

Nikon says shipping "late December". With their track record, this will mean January.

Hence why I don't order a camera, I buy one from a reputable store. I walk out with the camera, saves a lot of frustration. I recommend this method regaardlesss of the brand of camera you use. Plus, if something happens to go wrong within either that store's or manufaturer's warrenty time, you have a place to take it back and deal with a real person, instead of a customer call center in New Dehli.

The irony of that... When I bought my 5D,... I saw it in a local camera store that usually charges a lot more for their goods than does B&H in NY..and here they even had one on Deno! I just about fainted when I saw that! Here is the thing on back-order everywhere I knew, and here they not only have it in stock, but on demo as well.. LOL.. Well, if that wasn't the only nice thing,...they were selling it for 3,199.00 while on B&H, and everywhere else, they are selling their's for 3,299.00.....so even with the WI sales taxes, I paid the same price as I would buying one from NYC with the shipping,...and I get to have my hands on it before I buy it! Amazing!

Yep,...I like to shop locally too... besides, it helps to keep these wonderful people in business,....and I often go to them in pinch situations..

From the "pre-production" examples I've seen, the iso noise of the new D200 is worse than the 1.5 year old Canon 20D body... but at least they managed to pack this POS with this, that, and the other thing to make up for the very basic function,....IMAGE QUALITY!! .....but then again,...these are coming from "pre production" cameras,.....like that means anything at all... I doubt it....it seems that pre production and full production models are so similar that by the time they announce the camera,...what you see is what you are gona get..
