OK, I replaced my 15in. CRT with a HP vs17,what a difference, and I replaced my old ME sys with a HP SR1620NX Media System, loaded with PSP's 7,9 and Pro X,(w/ XP Home Edition),Incredible difference, and I replaced my Minolta 7Hi with a Nikon D70,while I still love the 7HI,the D70 was a great addition, however,I did a stupid thing,I wanted a Battery Grip, soooooooooo,I saw an ad for one,it was a "Jenis",but when I got it??lol, sheeeeeesh, lets just say,its not a good idea to buy based on the words of an ad.So does anyone know who makes a REAL vertical grip for the D70???

Hoodman makes one. You can read about it here:

http://www.photo.net.ph/products/d70verticalgrip/

It lists some other companies who make them, too. I haven't tried any of these myself, but hopefully you can find one that works for you.

Hope this helps!

(FIRST.let me apologize for the mispelling,my excuse?Insomnia),Ill check that out, thanx, the reason Im looking for another grip is that while the "jenis" works, its very poorly made, poorly indeed, and when I called the company, lol, and said that even the instruction manual had a great deal of mispellings, they replied with," it was made in China"????so I said, and, like dont they have people to check things before finalizing??"themz that dont look, sometimes getz took"...

Heh heh, I guess you and me both have insomnia. Well, I dunno, I could easily be sleeping right now, but I'm a procrastinator, I end up working on stuff I need to do really late, etc., etc...

ANYWAYS... um, what the heck was I talking about? I have no clue... and I think that's my cue to go to bed. Good luck on your D70 grip search!

All of the D70 Grips that I have seen require you to glue a cable to the infared receiver on the D70. Personally I would find that a pain -- have to worry about snaging it and have it sticking off the camera. There have been a ton of chatter about them on DPReview so you may want to check it our before you get another one.

Am I going to get a lot of grief for this: You were on the right track with all of your new equipment up to the point when you bought a Nikon. Should have bought a Canon. What else do you expect from a Canon user.

[/ QUOTE ]Exactly nothing. Which you so perfectly provided.

Skip the grip idea for the D70. It was never designed to have one and all the aftermarket ones are tape and bailing wire solutions.

Let me pose a question to you. Do you really need a vertical grip? On my F4, there's a vertical grip built in with a vertical shutter release, and have yet to use it or have a need to use it. Just a question to ponder, I always figure, why spend money on something that you don't need.
