Still love my Minolta X-700 body
As for the 7hi, it was a fine camera. And the 7d with its built in anti-shake technology was effectively making every lens the equivalent of image stabilization of vibration reduction.
However, the 7d has always felt a little heavy in my hands and ergonomically not sound. The 6mp image sensor is ok, but not the type of camera you want to invest in now with higher technology available.
I myself never had any maxxum lenses, but if I did right now this is the only alternative other then scrapping them or using them only on film bodies. If your in love with your glass, I would say it has to be this camera obviously partially due to lack of options, but sadly right now Konica Minolta is not one of the major players in the digital SLR market.
I would look into Canon Rebels or 20d's, Nikon D50 or D70s, or even the Olympus E1, the new E-volt 500, or with the recent price drop and if you have access to or want Nikon glass the Fuji S3.
Best of luck, any questions feel free to inquire.
*think i shot this with my x-700, im not sure anymore, either that or a Canon AE-1, or maybe my F100, film is so long ago for me *
