If anyone gets the 5d and can tell me if it blows away the 20D please let me know. I just want to make sure it is worth the money.,

and I don't like b/w shots with the spot color effect either... but everyone else in the world does.... :/

It largely depends on what you are shooting,...for what I do, yes it does.. for what you do,...no, it may not... you may want to invest the money if you have it in a Roth IRA,..or some decent glass for your business.. Lenses hold their value much more than camera bodies do. Hence the reason for me buying a new 400mm lens..

I just completed a shoot with mine a few minutes ago and I am downloading the images now for evealuation. The performance I must say is great improvement over the 10D and 20D, since I've shot with both. I love the big LCD screen on the back, the added features come in handy, but since most of what I shot was in the studio today, there was any real testing of it's outdoor capabilities.

Playing around with the WB and various settings was fun and easy to do. Hence taking a look at the images will be the deciding factor if it is worth the money or not. Having a full frame image in your view finder, along with having true lense length is an added plus.

I'll get some sample images up in a little while.

If you need the 12.8 megapixels, if you need the full frame CMOS sensor to get your wide angle shots right now....I would say it's business and this helps your business.

There are many tweeks and improvements on the 5D over the 20d and lets not get into listing each and every one of them right now. But if your work would benefit from the 2 aforementioned things, I would look at a 5d. Otherwise, JP's advice on glass doesn't sound all to bad.

Gotta keep this in mind, this isn't the last full frame sensor Canon will be putting out, this is the beginning of a trend for their digital SLR's. In 12-18 months you will see another version of a full frame SLR from Canon.

So, in short, its between want and need, right now I would focus on the need.

....it's still a great camera and I want to get my hands on one again But my work doesn't need that right now.....and, i'm sorta broke Want and need have no effect when you have other things that classify as, "priority"

Best of luck in your Canon quest, 20d is still a damn fine camera. 5d a better camera, but I dunno about $2,000 better....then again those canon rebates are kicking in again

Is there a way you could rent both cameras and try each one and do a series of tests and see actually which one really would make the grade for your needs? Sorry dont ask me any Nikon, Cannon or digital questions but I would suggest seeing and using before buying.

Why I like going to these seminars, and workshops to see how everyone shoots.
