The most exasperating problem most of us have in displaying our images on the web is having no control over people's monitor or browser settings. So the same image might look great on one person's system and lousy on another.

Since I like to post images that are 600-640 pixels high, if people have their browsers set to automatically scale the image to fit the window the browser sometimes scales them down and makes groddy edges. QUESTION - - - in the HTML of my website is there a way to DISABLE automatic resizing of a JPEG, even if the client has it set to scale automatically? Thanks in advance!

The necessary code for this is at:

Images will not resize if they are imbedded within an HTML page. Generally its the images that you link directly to rather than to a page that has the image on it. I often use the latter technique so have no problem.

RFS is right. If the images are part of the page they won't be resized. Since you're presumably going to put your images into a gallery of some sort, instead of just linking to individual .jpg files, you won't have problems with this.
