I think I may have taken "garage" glamour a bit too far.

I've been wanting a posing stool for quite some time, but the ones you find at photo equipment vendors are all stupidly expensive. Well, I found this at my local Sam's Club for only $30. It's adjustable, and very comfortable. I figure I can cover it with a cloth if it needs to be seen in a shot.

PS I suck at product photos, and this is a glamour forum...so please don't give me any crap about my lighting. haha

I was gonna comment on the pose, that left wheel is kinda hidden and not in line with the others.

BTW, does that thing have adjustable height? I can't see an adjustment knob.

Heh heh, he said Knob!

Cheers!

What do they (Sam's Club) call that thing? And again does it adjust in height?

I think they call it a "shop stool", but I don't really recall. Yes, it does adjust in height. There's a lever, like you're used to under an office chair. I just have it rotated so that you don't see the handle in the pic. I think it goes from 15" to 22".

I keep seeing that at Loews and meaning to pick it up. Amazing that we can get that at a building supply for $30ish and they're over $100 as "posing stools".

The shop stool is okay, and the tool tray is probably useful for makeup, drinks, etc... but $30?

I was browsing the thrift stores on the way home (there's 3 within a mile on the road I take) and came across a drummer's stool. Price was marked $9.95 but it's the last Tuesday of the month, and so most everything is half off (regular end of month sale). Total cost about $5.30 with tax. Nice decent chrome finish with a padded seat, adjustable height, holds 300 pounds... but no tool tray. Damn!!!

Moral of story... lots of alternatives in this world.

By the look on her face, she isn't happy with your stool!

Good find on the drummer's stool. I hadn't thought of that.
