Hello Andy,

First, I would really like to thank you for sharing this behind the scenes image. this helped me get some of the best white background images I have ever taken. No spill all over the model causing lens flare and eating up contrast. many thanks.

The one thing I was unable to do though was to get the floor to go white with this method where I was trying to do a full length or the model sitting on the floor. What do you add to this setup to light the floor when necessary without putting strange shadows on the model?

Thanks again for the help.

All you can do is add some soft light - like a couple small softboxes on either side - to get rid of the shadows. Its possible, but very tough, since most people count on a little over exposure of the background to really wash it out, and you can't wash out the actual feet. Frankly, most people fix it in PS these days. Previously, in cataloges, it was simple enough to have it fixed by the printer in a masking process at the seperate stage. Another way is to use a high-gloss floor, but balancing the light to get rid of all shadows is almost impossible. Just use PS.
