Anyone using a wacom tablet?

I have one but almost never use it. I am a graphic artist and spend eight to ten hours a day touching up photos. There are times when I will be working on something and think, "This would be a lot easier if I got the tablet out." but I rarely do. Because I found myself using it so seldom, I stopped leaving it plugged in. When I'm in the middle of doing something, I don't like to stop and have to pick up again after hooking up the pad.
I have just grown accustomed to my mouse, and with twenty years of practice, I guess that have gotten pretty good with it.

The one thing that is keeping me away from tablets is the coordination thing of looking at the monitor while my hand is doing something out of sight. Now I do use the mouse for work (AutoCAD) so I should be used to this but then we are talking pens and not mice...so...

...when I came across the Cintiq I thought, "Great...direct to screen manipulation". But the price is *very* offputting!

However...has anyone used the Cintiq enough to make a judgement on this device?
