Hey all,

To the point now that I am starting to have a better understanding of light meters. Thinking about buying one, definitely appears that it would be useful although I'm sure I can continue to work the one on the camera and the greycard.

About halfway through NYIP course and have a little understanding of the different meters. What do you recommend? Want for studio and outdoor work as well as for scenic and landscape. Not too worried about the cost. Any suggestions?

Sekonic L-558 with Pocket Wizard module. When you get your lights and have a pocket wizard to fire them this little guy will do it too. Makes the sync cord obsolete. Well, until your pocket wizard batteries die.

"useful," he says. if you're a serious photographer, how about indispensable?

yeah... follow thru and get yourself a meter and say g'bye to shooting in automatic, pre-programmed, and so-called "creative" modes. it's time you take charge of your photo destiny!

Thanks sir... Moved over from the auto and creative modes a little while back (though I still shoot occasionally in aperture mode). Figured it's about time I work on the lighting as intensely as I've worked on learning the camera... Thanks again
