I am headed to Siesta Key and I have been told the beach sand is like white powder. One of the shoots is a beach shoot with a blonde model on the beach late afternoon to sunset. Any ideas from the pro shooters would be great..

Wear a black shirt to give the model a place to rest her squinting eyes for starters...second, remember you have a lot of reflected light off the sand and water so if you meter from your camera, use that reading as a starting point and chances are you'll have to adjust your camera over/under exposure by at least one-stop over to compensate for all the light pouring in your camera if you dont' want your model to go dark.

Third, take a California Sunbounce reflector to put light in the image and then scrim the model from the sun above with a California Sunbounce scrim...remember, the beach can also act a reflector too, sometimes good, sometimes bad...

Finally, take sunscreen and plenty of hydrating drinks and be prepared to chug a few "ritas" later when you get through, just don't drink and drive...later, have fun shooting, rg sends!

Who gave you that idea about the black shirt? BTW, where's my fly swatter fabric?

I don't have a clue?

Guess I gotta find that swatter fabric...hey, on the bright side, no pun intended, Samy's now has it in stock (grin) in fact they are selling CSB's like crazy, more on their website and if you got there email newsletter today you'd see me featured in it, or just go to Samy's. Later, off to bed, thanks, rg sends!
