Just wondering if anybody uses Amvona.com for photo equipment, I ordered a boom and another umbrella on the 31st, and haven't received a tracking number let alone the order. Did receive email confirmation of order though, even tried using their 800 number, it forwarded me elsewhere.
Just seeing if this company is a flake or what!

I have never bought anything from them, but they also sell on Ebay and you can check out their feedback there.

I've had similar experiences with them. Very slow to ship, and their customer service is nonexistant.

I've ordered several items from them and have received them promptly and without incident. In fact, a backdrop stand I bought had a broken wingnut and I emailed them about it (just informing, not complaining or demanding justice) and they quickly sent me 2 to replace it.

Good Luck,
Jim Neumann

You order it. You pay for it. They receive money for it. THEN...they order it from a distributor Sllllllllllllllllooooooooow.

Depending on the manufacturer of the umbrella, you might be caught in the summer time off as many vendor's are currently on 2 week leave.

Bought from them twice - but never again unless the price is really good (including the shipping costs). They have low prices but really check out the shipping costs because they are typically very high. More and more EBay sellers seem to be trying to make money on shipping because it's not counted in the EBay sale. I've found that their products are okay, but not the quality of many of the name brands.

Just my opinion...

I bought a 3 of 4 things there and they actually ship just as fast or faster than other places on the mainland. Quality may not be the best on the market but it's not bad for the price your paying.

i've bought fronm them via ebay. they've always been okay getting the stuff to me. the quality of their gear is another story, tho. they excel at having stuff that looks great at great prices but, when the stuff's in your hands, you're not so impressed with the quality and apparent durability of it.

I tried one of their Booms as it appeared to be a good price, it is slowly breaking and is s POS,

Their moto should be: "You get what you pay for..."

Wow, I'm amazed at the bad reports people are giving them.

I've bought from Amvona on more than one occasion.

First was one of their tripods with the removable monopod. It's a bit heavy with the combo together but let me tell you, they're solid and stable enough for any situation. I've bumped into the tripod with my 20D and 100-400 mounted and it barely budged. Excellent build quality. I can easily see it supporting a 600mm + body without problems.

Second thing I bought form them were the light clamps that let you clamp a strobe/head almost anywhere. Talk about useful and convenient!

Their prices were good, shipping cost was favorable and delivery, to Canada, prompt. I'll definitely buy from them again. They have some excellent painted backdrops.
