Lighting

I know gotta lot to learn and I'm learning a lot by checking out everyones work but there are still a lot of questions to ask. In the studio What type of light is used behind a models head to get that wonderful back light effect? How do you set the light? Behind a backdrop or just behind the model.

Hey Chuck in both of these Images....the light was placed directly behind he model..first image pointing away from the model..
Second Pointed directly at the back of her head.

Re: Lighting

Chuck....the first Image the backlight is one of those Cheapy 20 AC Slave background kits I bought from Backdrop outlet...60.00 light, stand, gel caps and attachment for placing the light on the stand.

Second Image is an AB400(Alien Bees).with a 10 spot grid set one stop higher than main..

you just have to be willing to experiment, often times there is no right and wrong.. only acceptable or non acceptable results
