Well apparently it really hasn't been fixed to the satisfaction of lot's of users who have sent there's in for repair and they come back still having the problem. I think the jury is still out on this one.
Cheers,
rfs

Much more control over color temperatures and tones. the WB shift thing is abig plus. Tethered, this thing eats batteries like Kirsty Alley and Ann Wilson used to go through HoHo's so you may want to employ a power adapter.

If you set it to shoot RAW + JPG and set it for B&W you get the JPG in B&W and the RAW in color. Kind of a 2 or the price of 1 thing.

actually, that answers another question i had pondered, i.e., is the camera actually only recording a monochrome image (and, hopefully, capturing a higher resolution image cuz it's not bothering with the color information), or is it capturing a color image and processing it as monochrome. obviously, the latter is what it's doing.

Well,...uhmmm.... don't drop it in salt water..

Also,...go to www.fredmiranda.com/software

Download:
Canon 20D CSpro, Resize Pro.. I'm not sure what happened to the ISO noise reduction plug in but I use that one too.. These are well worth it IMO.. The sharpening one seems to be good for lower iso speeds, while I normally use the USM provided in Photoshop for higher iso levels..

Hope that helps a bit..

Also,... in Popular Photography, July 2005,.. they have a feature on the 20D called "10 Secret Features"....some aren't so secret but others are kind of cool to know..

Plus they interviewed Playboy's Arny Freytag as well... pretty interesting stuff..

I wish, Chung. :-)

Hard to get around that $1400 vs. $7500 price difference on my budget, but it sure would be nice.

if i'm spending somewhere around $8k on an SLR, it ain't gonna be 35mm, full-size sensor or not-- I'm gonna go ahead and add another $4k to that price tage and get that Mamiya medium format SLR which I don't think is on the market yet... but maybe it is. either way, I'll hopefully have one by the end of the year. and if that happens, i'll recommend you use your 1Ds mkII as a doorstop.
