We'll after reading margo's card issue problem and dynamike mentioned that he takes 10-512MB and 1-1GB card with him out on shoots. I was wondering how much the rest of you are carrying and if your shooting RAW or JPEG

Myself
2 1GB Cards with another 1GB on order. Shooting RAW. If it's going to be a long shoot, I also bring my laptop to download one card while shooting with the other.

I bring:
4 512's
2 256's
1 2Gig

And a laptop with an 80 gig plug n play external hard drive....If I fill all that up, there would be an Amber Alert out for me....

One each, 1GB, 512MB, 256MB; shooting RAW. I rarely use them up on a typical shoot. I take a laptop if I think I might overrun all three. I usually don't fire the shutter unless I know I want the shot and I delete anything I'm not sure about. I hate trying to go through hundreds of nearly identical images.

Still, I'll probably pick up another couple of 512's next time I see a good deal on'em.

I'll take 2 1gig cards and my laptop. Depends on the shoot for raw or jpeg.

That's my arsenal. Just to clarify, I rarely shoot that much. On a typical shoot, like today with Lettie (headshot and four looks in four hours), I'll shoot about 200 images. About 1/10th of those are for metering and don't really get used and a few also go to the MUA for shots of him/her in action.

Weddings are different stories. If I shoot a wedding and I'm there all day, 6-8 hours, I'll fill those cards up easy. I hate recycling cards, but sometimes, you just have to do it. Of course, I also have two camera bodies with me at all times at a wedding and switch using one vs the other based on my lens choice. But that's another ball game.

Just wanted to clarify things. I really don't people thinking I spray and pray.

Mike

Usual arsenal:
[*]10 512 80x Lexar CF cards[*]1 1GB 40x Lexar CFcard[*]1 40GB Flashtrax[*]laptop w/40GB only if the clients wants me to burn images right then[*]10D and 20D body, 3 550EX speedlights, various lenses, Sekonic L-558 light meter, digital target, tripod and monopod with a Manfrotto RC22 head[/list]Probably more than you wanted, but oh well, I had time.

Lettie Godwin from earlier today. Hair and makeup by Mary Frantz.

See more of images from today w/Lettie.

Canon 20D
3 - 1G cards
1 - 2G card (on order)
1 - 40GB Flashtrax
2 - batteries for the Flashtrax

Notes:
- I have filled the 40GB Flashtrax once.
- i have had one compact flash get corrupted. Fortunately, most images were recovered.
- Twice, I have had a corrupted file system on my FlashTrax. When this happens my FlashTrax does not copy images from the flash cards.
