I think my 10d looks a little soft. I am using it along with a Canon 28-105 lens in situations that I think should give pin sharp shots. Any thoughts from the camera gods here??

OK, honest it looks soft while it's in PS. But after I post it to photobucket and then view it through here it's fine. Does this make sense?

Why do you think I hate it so much!

Look at my 10D review on GG in the product review..

If it weren't for the super slow review time, or the inaccurate AF'ing, or the 200ths top sync speed,..or the lack of EF-S mount, or the 3fps or the dynamic range, or the noise, I would like it..

I'm actually thinking about using it as a target for a few rounds from an AR-15! (if I can't sell it).. The one I have left, I just put a brand new shutter into it...costing me about 4 hundred bucks.. the body is a little scratched up.. but works just fine and it comes with the vertical grip.. and two batteries.. plus the original box, and all the stuff that came in the box.. for $650.00 ....Either pay me, or the camera will be executed!

When I had a 10D I always used my Canon 24-70L 2.8, I sold my 28-105 with my ole D60. iyt is not a real sharp lens for these cameras...

Well, to summarize, the Canon EOS 10D, has known 'softness' issues...among the buyers that is. Canon has long ignored it. I'm surpised you haven't seen all the "scuddlebuck" concerning it! I am one of many buyers that had to send it in to Canon to fix it, via my warrenty. Some are good out of the box...quite a few are not! Its been thought to be a quality control issue. For all the other models, its not a problem. I'd make sure you test it first though...ie. bright day(high shutter speed), tripod, and F5.6 or higher. Good luck!

I don't agree, my 10D with the Canon 24-70L was not soft a bit, it was tack-sharp.

I sold and moved up to a 1D MkII which I though was soft until I adjusted the on-camera sharping...

Steven, in my post, I never said "all" were bad. Just more off that line, a LOT that is, are than any higher end cam I've heard of. I tested mine very well with Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM glass, that I just moments before tested on a Canon 1Ds. I was just one of many victims. Now that its fixed, its a great cam! And, every line will have duds, thats understood. What chaps me is the sheer quantity of duds that they've rolled out on the 10D...

A newer body? My camera before this on was a Minolta XG-1. A camera from the 70's. I don't know how old this camera is but it can't be that old.
