Okay this maybe seem like a dumb question...
after editing in photoshop and resizing the image to size for posting..is there a way to save the EXIF info when saving for web?

I'm going to assume that you are using PS 7.

If so the first thing that you need to do is download the scripting plugin from here .

Then when you got that up and running on your PC, e-mail me and I will send you the Javascript for what you want. You need to create a folder called 'scripts' inside your Photoshop folder under Program Files and put this script there.

What this script essentially does is pull your exif data and puts it on to a text layer over your photo (don't know if this is what you were referring to). The colour is set to a bright green but you can easily change that.

When you save for web the exif info is stripped away so as to make the file smaller and quicker to load.

You could always copy the exif info, expand the canvas under the pic and paste the info then save for web. You would then have the photo and the info you wished to present under it.

Instead of save for web do a save as and save as JPG. This will keep the EXIF info in the file.
