I was told by that Sammy's sells them, but they're not on their website and when I gave them a call, they seemed not to know what I was talking about. After filtering through all of the foreign language and Euros on their (California Sunbounce) site, I came across a couple of maybees, but their websites just link me right back to where I started. If anyone has purchased these reflectors, please tell me where you got them and how.
Thanks,
Marcello

I am of the opinion that no one sells them. The Sunbounce website is basically imcomprehensible even in the English version. You would have no idea from their product listing what is what and which reflectors you might want. I could find no dealers in the US that had any of their products. I looked at the dealer list on their website but none of the US dealers appear to be dealers. I checked with two large camera shops in the DFW area and none of them had ever heard of the product. Well, we know it exists, but I think if we want to be able to buy these products, Rolando is going to have to arrange some sort of a deal when he gets time, so that we can get a decent catalog that shows us what's what and what the prices are and where we can order them.
Cheers,
Roger

californiasunbounce.com lists dealers in the U.S. The only path I could find to purchase one was through Mole-Richardson. They rent california sunbounce but don't sell them. They have a subsidiary studiodepot.com that DOES sell them. I bought one from them two weeks ago.

I noticed that most of the items there, however, were out of stock. Also none of their photographs are showing up, so I'm no sure which product is which. I'm always hesitant about buying from a website where parts of the website do not work, because often there will be other surprises after you order. A product like this could be a very hot product that would sell very well if someone with a little marketing ability put together decent sales material and a well crafted website to confidently order from. At this point, I'll continue to use the PVC versions of the Sunbounce panels that I make my self using Dean Colins old Tinkertube book.
Cheers,
rfs

I did the same research after the workshop too and came to the same conclusion.

Here's an option for you from another GG member:

GG Classifieds

No disrespect to CA Sunbounce, it's just I don't want to work that hard to buy a very expensive product.

I'll definately give those guys a call before I make any moves.
But just for Ss&Gs, is there anyplace where I can get a hold of something similiar to that "zebra" material found on those reflectors. If so, I'll be just as happy with a Texas Sunbounce !

First off, I love Scott's quip and I quote:
"...I don't want to work that hard to buy a very expensive product."

And to play Jerry Sienfeld for a moment: "What is up with this German company making a product called California Sunbounce"????

Calumet makes several very cool (hot?) Reflectors, I just won three of them on their ebay listings (have not recieved them yet), they come in various sizes and materials, I bought two of the 60" x 86" size, one is "Zig-Zag" (Gold and Silver) and the other is Gold. The third one is the smaller size 31" x 41" also in Gold. I like these because, with a universal speed ring, they will thread onto the top of a light stand.

Here is a Link to see them:

And here is a very cool Link to how they can be utilized:

Calumet also offers a very cool Panel Kit, which is very close to a Ca. Sunbounce, at $159 for multiple colors, it may be your best value, here is the Link:

I used these two and they are very nice. Your links, by the way, don't work which is typical of Calumet links, they contain a session ID, and when it expires so does the link. The eBay auctions don't inlcude the speedring, of course, so that will have to be bought seperately which will add another $20-$40 usually. But the eBay pricing is very good. But for that matter, the Calumet price on their website (with the ring) is also pretty good.
Cheers,
rfs
