Ok, after experiencing the ole' micro drives crashing all the time I had my first experience with one of my CF cards.

One of the reasons I use small mb CF cards, 256 or lower is for a reason if something goes corrupt.

I got to retrieve the first shot and all the other files are there, I just can't access them. Realizing I maybe screwed even on a data recovery situation that they still might be corrupted. I guess I just want to try and access something.

Shooting in .jpg and it is now telling me I can't access the files because it says can't read file header "unkown format". I checked and the extensions on the files are .jpg. Originally the cf card did play back the images on camera in play preview. They don't anymore and as mentioned I can not access them.

Anyway, if anyone knows an easy fix on what I should do to try and save the files for access, then I would appreciate the feedback. If I am screwed, so be it.

Photorescue you can download from http://www.datarescue.com/

This is the best program out there, and it is good.

The demo will do 2 important things... one is it will create an image file of your CF card saved to your hard drive for later processing. The second is it will show you the images of exactly what can be recovered..... you just can't save them unless you pay for a license.

The latest version also handles the newest RAW formats.

I've used Photorescue like Roger mentioned. It worked perfectly. I had a 512 go bad from a wedding. I was able to retrieve all of them. The program is worth the money.

This is working!!!!!! Thank you.

Although I purchased a license from PhotoRescue and while I was waiting for it, this free data recovery is recovering the files nicely as well....
