Hello everyone,

after a lot of fiddling around with color calibration to match monitor and prints I finally gave in and bought a Gretag EyeOne Photo. Great decision and I don't wanna miss this nice little unit but....
My prints are now nicely matching the monitor and everything seemed to be all right but I still struggle to get images for web use to look decent. I am using a 20" Apple Display and calibrated it originally with a Gamma of 1.8
When I use a Gamma of 2.2 (which by the way is recommended by the EyeOne) my monitor looks dimmer/darker. The luminance setting in the calibration process seems to have no effect. I tried the default setting, 140 (recommended by the software for LCD's) and 250. At the end of the calibration process I get a reading of the luminance and the luminance target and the help screen says that if these two parameters are within +-5cd everything is fine.
Unfortunately the reading shows around 287cd and my maximum setting for the target is only 250.

Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong here - any pointers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Robert
