Many of my clients prefer that I give them a CD to preview rather than come back to my studio and watch it on my big screen TV. I use a program called PicturesToExe. I create a slideshow and then make it where the customer cannot print from the CD and then after a specified time the CD is useless. Well that has worked fine until today. I got my first iMAC client. The .exe program will not work on the MAC. So I guess I am looking for a program where I can create an unprintable presentation on a PC that will play on a MAC. Ideas?

First thing that comes to mind is a PDF file.

Set limitations or a watermark when the PDF prints. You will need Acrobat Professional for this.

I use proshow gold to do the same thing you are doing but I am not totally sure if that will work on a mac.

From looking at the website they are PC only. It makes a .exe just like my program.

I can covert the program to a vid file which would slow down the average consumer from making a a print.

I think the exe thing is one option... I usually create a VCD or a DVD slide show.I dont think I have ever created an exe with it.

When you create the VCD or DVD can they print from it and can you time it out?

The only way the can print from it is to pause the show and do a screen capture. And I usually limit it to 2 weeks and they can buy a password to unlock it after that if they want.

Mike, I understand your concern, but you can't make an image preview I can't print. Let it go. Watermark the images or just make sure they're low enough resolution that people won't get good prints from them anyhow.

The thing is, most people have no idea how to print something that isn't a standard image file. If you give them, say, a DVD with a slideshow on it or a .mov file, they will almost certainly not bother to try to print out stills from it, assuming they know how.

Understand. I am leaning towards the DVD idea.

That's a good idea - most everybody has either a DVD or a VHS player. You can get one of those DVD players that has a built in VCR, and if they don't have a DVD, make a DVD anyway and then just dub it onto a tape. We do that in my office all the time.
