I'm in the market for a new monitor and can't deside if I should go for a Lacie Electron Blue 19" or an Apple Cinema 20" display.

The lacie has it's own calibration thingy which is much higher priced than the Spyder 2 Plus. Better or just more expensive?

Comments, suggestions, recommendations welcome.

I just got the 20" Cinema with a Dual G5 Mac with Tiger software. What an incredible setup!!
I cannot speak for the Lacie Electron Blue 19" but the Apple is impressive. The Apple has
recently dropped in price so check it out. Try CDW. I got mine through MACyhpher in Gurnee, IL. Good luck!

I have recently purchased an iMac G5, 2.0 ghz computer...I got the 20 inch model. INCREDIBLE!! My friend Stewart ( Photoshop Expert and great photographer ) uses nothing but Apple Cinema displays: 20 inch and 23 inch. Stewart is one of those guys that you never hear about, but people in the industry know who he is, and he STAYS in demand. (He did the retouch of the Tony Duran Darryl Hannah pics for Playboy...also all of those Jennifer Lopez photos for American Photographer Ltd editions: retouched by Stewart).

If Stewart tells me Apple is the only way to go, I listen. I still won't switch to Canon cameras though...

Might just spring for the 20" Cinema. Did get my Spyder2 and borrowed a good Trinitron 20" CRT. Man was my images off in colors.

Thanks for the suggestion

I have a 12" powerbook which is not the screen you would do editing on. I've not used the 20" Cinema, but it is the way I'm leaning. Thanks for the advice.

Stewart travels with a 12 inch Powerbook and a 20 inch display, and does remarkable work with that set-up He uses a dual processor G5 PowerMac as his main unit with the 23 incher.

Good Luck...
