If you are planning to invest on a better canera, do not spend anything on this one. Keep money for the better one .. just a suggestion.

Hi Don

Your don't need to be ashamed or make apoligies for your camera. I once saw a SI swimsuit photog using a small point and shoot for his images in the magizine. As my dad used to say its not the tool but how you use the tool that makes the difference.

I have and use the s602 and the s7000 as well as the s2pro SLR. Each camera has its pluses and minuses. As far as you dof use your manual setting and work with your aperatue settings.

Just work with your camera and you will get the results you want.

Your problem is the relationship between actual focal length of the lense (not 35mm equivalent) and aperture. That's where P&S cameras have problems. You're going to have a really hard time getting anything resembling shallow depth of field out of it.
