When I look at the image right out of the camera the skin tones looked good. When I save for web the image looks like this. How do you get the skin tones back ?

Make sure you are saving color profile as sRGB and NOT Adobe RGB. I convert to sRGB before saving then resize to 600x400.

Before you save to web, Open and adjust in ImageReady. Apparently Imageready is more true to the web colour then Adobe. I just found this out this past weekend.

That's the problem. When I save for web Adobe opens image ready and the image looses it's skin tone. Now all I can do is play with it in image ready and I never can get it back to the way it looked out of the camera.

I think image ready does that for you. I could be wrong but that's what I have read.

Try it without using image ready. I convert from RAW to 16bit aRGD, edit as much as I can there, convert to 8 bit and do any editting I couldn't do in 16, sharpen if necessary and save (if I can do all my editting in 16 bit, I don't convert to 8.) Then I resize to the output I want, sharpen, convert to 8 bit (if I didn't already), convert to sRGB and save for web. As long as my monitor is calibrated (it's old and drifts) I end up with colors very close to where I had them before resizing, etc.

While I am certainly not an expert, I have experienced the same issues before. Due to not knowing another way to correct here is what I do. With my original image I assign the color profile to Adobe RGB. I then make my adjustments and resize for my desired print size. I then save that file as a print ready (thats my personal folder) jpeg. I then assign the color profile as sRGB, resize to my desired websize and "save for web" and it matches the color out of the camera perfectly. There may be a short cut, but I don't know it...

The problem is you used the Profile Nikon Adobe RGB instead of sRGB. Windows browsers are not color managed applications. So even thought the color space was embedded in the image, IE and firefox both ignore it and automatically assume sRGB. Thus your image looses that "pop" and gets flat. Before you save your image for posting online, do Image | Mode | Convert to Profile... then select sRGB. After that you can do File | Save for web.
