AG! Im wondering...if Adobe no longer supports 7 why register it?
have you tried doing a complete uninstall...and reinstall without registering the program? I would try that..and if you are using a fire wall have it block adobe access to the internet...... if they wont support it..then UP THERES!!!

... allow me to go on the record saying this... MAN THAT SUCKS!

My thoughts,,,,,, adobe CS full coming way down in price come the fall, if you can wait until then, its a simple upgrade fee for Cs2. Sorry man, beware evil ebay. You have done all you can now, it is up to Wyatt Earp now to tell you what you can do with this guy on ebay, sorry to hear about that, make sure you send Adobe the information

Jason, Yep.. sucks big time.

I cant use CS2.. I run this computer with 98se (I beta test other software, and have to use it) This computer is my connection to the web for a number of things. My other computer has XP Pro, but no internet connection, and not using it for photo editing etc. Besides, the monitor on that 'puter is not good enough for image editing.

I am going to try and get CS before it is gone from the local software stores here.. and even then, I am pissed that I spent so much on version 7 and could only use it for not even 2 full years.

Don,

Not only have I "un-installed" it, I have even gone so far as to un-install ALL of my "licensed" software (Adobe Acrobat 7.0, Reader 6.23, Image ready, Elements 2.0) and then even cleaned up the 98se registry.

After all that I installed PS7 and in order to install it you need to type in the serial number.. I did, and it installed. It opened fine, I thought.. ok all is well.. but as soon as the Adobe Splash screen closed... got he major system error message and computer locked up. I have un-installed it again, and again had to clean the registry. Acrobat installed and works fine, reader installed and works fine, image ready and elements not working..

oh well..

I guess I am screwed on this one.. All I can hope for is that EBAY, Paypal,
The attorney general for the State of Texas, and The Dallas police department do something, as I have sent them a detailed letter explaining everything and copies of all my documentation. Paypal, emailed me stating that the transaction to purchase the software was "protected", so I will eventually get my 149 bucks plus shipping back, but it will take about 2 or three weeks.. Unfortunately, I need to finish editing images and some other things.. way before that time..

Thanks for your "moral support" and keep on taking those wonderful images of your lovely wife.

BTW, just call me Andrew... everyone does.. well almost everyone.. some just call me "IDIOT" or a few call me "Majic".

One thing you missed, go here http://www.spa.org/piracy/ and fill out the report piracy form. They can be less than fun to deal with, too, if you're pirating software.

Have you tried a dual boot configuration on the 98 PC? I hate them, myself, but sometimes it solves problems, like not being able to run software you need.

Dan, thanks.. I didnt forget.. I am a member of SPA... just didnt post it here.

As to the dual boot.. no thank you.. I had enuf problems with that years ago, and again lastyear.. it also affects some of my hardware, and makes it a real problem for some of the software I have to use in beta testing.

Thanks for the thoughts..

Well, I got Photoshop CS today (bought it at Fry's Electronics) ... I guess I have to upgrade my system to XP.. now to decide.. Home or Pro (I have both on "Original" MS CD's)... I guess I wont be doing much of the beta testing anymore.. it required 98se...

Decisions... decisions... decisions...

Andrew

Either one is fine. Pro just exposes more of the operating system controls for you to tweak.
