I have had the Epson 820 for about 2 years, and I still can not get on paper the same quality of image that I create in Photoshop 7. Do you think it is a calabration problem or does the 820 just not cut it? Any suggestions?

Don,t no much about the 820 but have the R800 with the ultrachrome inks
when calibrated properly and the setup in PS etc. awsome results finer gain than in a photographic print! big call but they is the facts the printer prints
with 1.5pl ink droplet most coments from photographers are positive.
Check the calibration of your screen as the setting are very important http://www.normankoren.com/pixels_images.html.check this link out for a little program called QUICKGAMMA it enabled me to work out that my screen was pumping out 248 gamma instead of 220 ( due to a old video card changed that and calibrated spot on since)

I have the 820. I bought it strictly to print documents and not photos. For $89 it ain't gonna give you squat. I have a 7600 to give me squat.

Saw the R1800 yesterday at BestBuy and I may retire my 1280. The Photo 825 I have works great and has the convenience of being a card reader.

I have the 820 and the 1280, the 820 is for Documents only, maybe some color image when I'm not concerned about quality. I use the 1280 for all my important work. Get a 1280 they rock!
