Reflectors too reflective?

I've got a couple of Calumet reflector disks but noticed that the surface is *very* reflective - like foil or another metallic surface. I did notice that other brands such as photodisk or photoflex have more of a matte finish.

I never really thought about it until I went back and looked at some recent photos where the reflected light looks too strong.

I don't think moving the reflector farther away from the model would help much because it is so mirror like.

Would the matte reflectors be better or can my existing ones be toned down with something?

Fog it with white spray paint......

Get it wet and leave it out in the sun and weather it.....

Either one will work.....
