New in town. I started using the Micro drives with my Fuji S1, loved the 1gig, so I bought another. Both failed!! and died with photos on them. Lost forever, sent them to a recovery service, no luck. I now use Lexar 1gigs, have been in heaven sence.

I have a Hitachi 2GB that is a replacement of one that failed. I was using it on a train on a rainy day, and I think the combination of vibration and moisture killed it.

The new one is used indoors only and is rarely removed from the camera. Use the USB cable direct from the camera to the computer.

However, I mainly use the Lexar cards because they are and more durable. Drop them or touch them in the wrong way and they are fine. Touching the sides of a microdrive will kill it.

The other benefit to 1GB cards is that you can swap them. While one downloads to the computer you can shoot with another.

I've been considering buying (2) 1 gig cards. That will give me 3. And I like the flexabilty of shooting different things and chooseing a different card for that perpose.

I bought a 1GB Extreme II yesterday at Costco. It sells for $89 and they have a 20% discount going at the register. BTW, over three years ago I was paying $2.00 per MB and that card would have cost me $2,000! From $2.00 to 7 cents...I love technology and competition combined.
