Well, my secret is out!!! When I was younger, I had a thing with shooting!!! My family was my subject of scences!

Any who's, I am spending some of weekend going through and scanning in some of my favorite work from family albums. My scanner isn't the best of quality and the photos are old, but is there any way to enhance these images at all? I scanned in at 300dpi and went to photo shop and sharpened a bit. The color just seems so off. Any pointers would be appreciated!

P.S. the camera I used was a Pentax 35 mil.

I can't offer specific pointers - I'd be tweaking each, most likely. However, I wanted to comment that the images you chose to share are quite nice - humorous, friendly, even warm. Nicely done.

IMO, of course.

OK, been tinkering around in PS. Not sure exactly what I did, but messed around with hues and saturation, think it looks tons better!

really cute shots. If I could humbly suggest pulling up the curves dialogue, click the black eyedropper then set your black point in that strip of darkest shadow under the porch...then click the white eyedropper and click the white part of the bear on your sisters shirt, I think it might take the magenta cast out of that first shot.

Hey, not at all ! How did you sharpen it up? It seemed the more I sharpen the more pixellated it got.

one of the easy ways to sharpen an image is using unsharp mask ( filter > sharpen > unsharp mask ). you have some control on sharpness vs just filter > sharpen. fool around with the amount of sharpening and the pixels radius. i usually keep the pixel radius below 1.0 so have fun.
