I could use a little assistance on this meter. I purchased mine yesterday, and would like some tips or hints for this unit if anyone is familiar. It seems to offer a very extensive setting mode and was wondering if a particular setup works well relative to ambient or flash light metering.

Beside the obvious of setting the ambient mode when you want ambient and flash when you want flash mode

OK, lets say you put a model by the window and you want to fill the other side of her face with a strobe then you can meter with flash mode and look at the % at the top right. If it says anything other than 100% then some of the light from the window was used in the metering. Thus you have combined ambient and flash for the reading you just achieved. If it says 100% then your flash is overpowering your ambient reading.

Another nice thing with that meter is that you can recess the white ball so you could meter more directional light.

Those are probably 2 of the most important things I'd say you want to understand as far as things specific to that meter.

Thank you sir...I may test it today using your scenario. Looks like I've got some reading to do. I am such a type A and visual personality, it becomes so much more clear when I SEE it in operation...

Thanks for the tips....
