I'm considering buying this camera. I would however appreciate it if you guys could check it out and let me know if it's worth investing in.

Would this camera be suitable for portraits and glamour?

Here's the link
Another link that has a lot of photos taken with this camera.

Have you actually picked it up an handled it? My fiancee's monther bought this camera. She let me do all the research for her and choose the best bag for the buck and she also wanted a good zoom. Well I read that DPreview "Highly Recommended" it and compared to all others with that much zoom. So she bought it and I held it an didn't like it. It felt cheap and also empty inside. So then it goes back to saying you should handle the camera before you buy it. She was happy thought but she would've been happy with whatever camera I told her to get though. lol There is no doubt it has a great lens but it felt REALLY CHEAP and way to light for me. It was light as a feather. The LCD is to low resolution for me, I thought it sucked also. It does have a GREAT zoom and image stabilization but I found it to be alittle slow shot-to-shot.

Just my 2 cents!

Thanks for the feedback RNL.

No I've not handled the camera as yet. I just seen it on the net and it looked like a good camera to purchase.

By the way, what do you think of the quality of the photographs?

Honestly I've only seen them printed up in 4x6 prints. I haven't even seen her pics on the computer at 100%. So that doesn't help much because just about any camera can look good on a 4x6 print.

Hi,
My mom just got this camera a couple of months ago. The specs are good on it, but personally I don't like the body of it. It feels cheap when you hold it and the resolution on the LCD screen isn't that great. But the quality of the pics are good. We hooked the camera up to the tv and viewed the pics like that instead of on the computer. Well that's just my opinion.

Hope that helps!

KristinaLyn and RNL, thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. Looks like I'm gonna have to find another camera. I was looking at some of the photos posted on various sites, they seem to be rather noisy in the darker areas and also very noisy when photos are taken at iso200 and above.

Once again thank you.
